■Story
A WHALE OF A TALE

In 2010, Taiji, a sleepy fishing town in Japan suddenly wakes up in the global spotlight. The Cove, a documentary denouncing the town’s longstanding whale and dolphin hunting, has won an Oscar. Almost overnight, Taiji becomes the go-to destination for international activists, morphing into a battleground.
Can a proud 400-year-old whaling tradition survive a ‘tsunami' of modern environmental activism?
A Whale of a Tale tells a story not yet heard in the global controversy revealing truths that can’t be explained as simply as Hollywood films portray.
